World AIDS Day

The NSS unit of the campus observed World Aids Day in the AV hall which started at around 9:30am and continued till 12:45pm. There were around 50 volunteers who participated in the programme. Red ribbons were distributed to all the members present as well as the faculty members which symbolized Aids Day before the programme began. The programme began with a small introduction about the aids day along with a statistical video of 2016 and then the lamp lighting followed by an opening dance. Father Vice-principal, Dr C.J. George sdb, welcomed the guest and the participants after which a video based on a real story was shown to spread awareness and a presentation made to give brief information on Aids.

 


The session was then carried forward by the guest speaker Mr. Bhaskar Tamang from WHO CARES in association with AIDS Organization, councilor of Gorubathan. He spoke about detailed idea of HIV/AIDS, its symptoms, causes and remedy. The programme continued with a dance and presentation on the theme AIDS awareness. Then an open quiz for more knowledge followed by a skit showing how society treats an AIDS affected person.

 


 
 

 

 
 

 


The programme was concluded with a vote of thanks given by NSS Coordinator Mr. Sandeep Sundas.
